This was taken at Boscombe Down in England. It was an open day at the Ministry of Defence experimental air force base.

I love this. The caption and all the detail in the smoke trails in contrast to the background gives it a very dramatic feel.

"Smoke on, go!" comes from the name of a video about the Red Arrows that my son had when he was very small and we used to go and see these guys at air shows.

The Red Arrows, by the way, is the formation flying team of the Royal Air Force. The use Hawk jet trainers. I just love to watch them, they are so cool and professional, it gives me goose bumps!

yeah I imagine it would be quite a sight to see!
Never seen an airshow myself, I might have to see if I can find one in the area someday, especially after seeing these photos :)
